■ HIGHLIGHTS: At Cashman Field, the slumping 51s (10-12) suffered their fifth straight loss, including four to the Rainiers (14-10), who took a 4-3 lead with two runs in the seventh. … Las Vegas left the tying runs in scoring position in the ninth when Tacoma closer Logan Bawcom struck out Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Brian Bixler to end the game. Pinch hitters Reese Havens and Omar Quintanilla walked to open the inning and moved up on a sacrifice bunt by Kai Gronauer. … The 51s hadn’t been swept in a four-game series at home since August 2011 by Fresno. … Las Vegas took a 3-2 lead in the sixth on an RBI groundout by Jamie Hoffmann. It was the 51s’ first lead since Thursday, when they led Tacoma 10-6 in the ninth before giving up seven runs in a 13-12 loss. They scored only six runs in the final three games of the series. … Nick Franklin homered for Tacoma in the first inning, and ex-51s outfielder Eric Thames had an RBI double in the third to make it 2-0. Las Vegas tied it in the fifth on a two-run single by Josh Satin. … The 51s head to Reno today to open an eight-game road trip. Reno’s scheduled starter, lefty Tyler Skaggs, is the Arizona Diamondbacks’ top prospect, according to Baseball America.
