CSN baseball loses, must play again for championship

LAMAR, Colo. -- Willie Johnson, Bryan Karraker and A.J. Schugel each hit two home runs as Central Arizona defeated the College of Southern Nevada 21-14 in the NJCAA Western District Tournament.

The Coyotes (48-14) and Vaqueros (46-19) are playing again today for the championship of the double-elimination tournament. The winner advances to next weekend's Junior College World Series at Grand Junction, Colo.

With winds gusting out at about 35 mph, the teams combined for 11 homers. Central Arizona hit nine in the first four innings to take a 21-4 lead.

Johnson, Karraker and Schugel hit homers in the second inning, and then all three homered again during a 12-run third inning.

Trent Cook and Trevor Kirk each homered for CSN. Bryce Harper finished 2-for-5 with a three-run double.
