Oakland Raiders sign lease on O.co Coliseum for 2016 season

The Oakland Raiders apparently completed two noteworthy transactions on Thursday.

The first move was the re-signing of safety Nate Allen, a transaction that the team announced.

The other news was that the Raiders reportedly signed a new lease to play their 2016 games at O.co Coliseum, the team's home since it moved back from Los Angeles in 1995.

The signing of the new lease was reported by Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, although the team is expected to make an official announcement later Thursday.

Allen played in five games for the Raiders in 2015, starting three, and totaled 14 tackles (11 solo), one interception and two passes defensed. He missed 11 games because of injury and finished the season on injured reserve.

Allen was released Tuesday before rejoining the Raiders on Thursday.

The 28-year-old played his first five NFL seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles before coming to the Raiders before the 2015 season.

The Raiders will again call O.co Coliseum home in 2016, but that does not necessarily mean the team will be staying in Oakland beyond 2016.

The Raiders might move after next season but must wait until after the San Diego Chargers make a decision on whether they want to join the Rams in Los Angeles.
