ESPN ‘prediction’ says Las Vegas Scorpions will lose Super Bowl in 2027

There’s been a lot of talk about the could-be Las Vegas Raiders and an off-Strip stadium proposal in recent weeks, but have you heard about the Las Vegas Scorpions? ESPN says they’re going to win a Super Bowl. Well, maybe.

With Super Bowl 50 over and done with, ESPN has put together a fun satirical list of predictions for the next 25 Super Bowls, and Las Vegas has landed on the list.

The Las Vegas Scorpions are predicted to lose Super Bowl LXI in 2027 to the Los Jaguares del Mundo, 35-9. Ouch.

Unfazed by a schedule that has them play two ‘home’ games each in London, Barcelona, Rome and Jacksonville, the Jags ride the arm of wily veteran Blake Bortles to victory,” the description of the game reads. “All-Pro defensive tackle Rashan Gary records three sacks and an interception to complement Bortles, who throws for 343 yards and three touchdowns. League expansion to 40 teams and 20 playoff berths pushes the big game one week further on the calendar, finally allowing fans a respite for recovery on Presidents Day.”

Las Vegas also landed on the list hosting a future big game — Super Bowl LXIV in 2030 between the London Monarchs and the Cleveland Browns. (Las Vegas Sands Corp. has proposed building a 65,000-seat NFL-ready stadium on land owned by UNLV.)

And the Los Angeles Rams? They’re on the list too, playing in Super Bowl LVI and beating the New York Jets 23-14.

St. Louis has a new team, too. The Stallions will lose to the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl LX in 2026.

Don’t forget the Chargers. But by Super Bowl LVII, they’re known as the Los Angeles Chargers of Anaheim and lose to the Green Bay Packers 28-19.
