Gilberto Ramirez improves to 28-0 with TKO at Mandalay Bay

Super middleweight Gilberto Ramirez remained undefeated with a fifth-round technical knockout over Giovanni Lorenzo in the main event of Friday’s Top Rank boxing card at Mandalay Bay.

Ramirez attacked Lorenzo early and pressured him throughout. In the fifth round, Ramirez threw a left hook to Lorenzo’s body, dropping him to one knee. Lorenzo’s corner asked that the fight be stopped, and Ramirez was awarded the win at 2:47 to improve to 28-0. Lorenzo dropped to 33-7.

In the co-feature, Jesse Hart dominated Samuel Clarkson and won an eight-round unanimous decision in their super middleweight bout. Hart (13-0) was ahead 80-70 on all three scorecards. Clarkson (10-3) was knocked down twice in the fourth round.
