TODAY AT HOLLYWOOD PARK

Post Time 1:20 p.m.
Race 1 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $28,000, Claiming $25,000, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
Beyla - Desparate win off the claim by Mike Mitchell; when he gets them good, they stay good, like the return of Bejarano.
Plata Quemada - Darrell Vienna took a calculated risk dropping in class; he won the race and kept possession of the filly.
Long Shot - Cajun Monarch
Race 2 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $21,000, Claiming $16,000, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
Ann's Plan - Jeff Mullins has a dangerous uncoupled entry in here; he started using the bugboy and getting decent results.
Real Lift - Sharp win off the claim by Mullins; Alonso Quinonez replaces Tyler Baze who is serving a brief suspension.
Long Shot - Gold Datnoid
Race 3 - 6 furlongs (turf), Purse $54,000, Optional claiming $62,500, 3-year-olds and up
Medzendeekron - Dead late closer in a race jammed full of speedball types; turf sprint configuration helps the rail horses.
Devils Afleet - We'll see if Joe Talamo can nurse the potential speed of the speed; colt has shown no compunction to rate.
Long Shot - Dakota Padre
Race 4 - 6 furlongs, Purse $15,000, Claiming $12,500, 3-year-olds and up
Scott's Poppy - Mike Mitchell adding blinkers on for this test; his races two and three back are fast enough to upset these.
Six Again - Tepid chalk in a difficult leg of the pick 6; class relief and second start off a 3-month hiatus are helpers.
Long Shot - Babcock Lake
Race 5 - 1 1/16th miles (turf), Purse $50,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, 3-year-olds and up
Apoplectic - Logical chalk has run second in three turf routes already; had no chance in turf sprint when dead last early.
Buck Basolo - I know he does not have winning ways, but you need to use him in the exotics; facing a fairly pedestrian group.
Long Shot - One Chin Again
Race 6 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $27,000, Starter allowance $40,000, 3-year-olds and up
Kielbasa - Second best last time when Nina's Pad rallied up the rail to nip him; figures to be forwardly placed throughout.
Pictural - Has been regressing for Gary Mandella, but this could be the start of his rebound; like the 2-turn stretch out.
Long Shot - Lemon
Race 7 - 1 mile (turf), Purse $61,000, Allowance, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Heathersdadysbaby - I think Bejarano would like to cover her up and save some horse; was forced on a slow pace lead in last.
Gotta Have Her - Classy filly returns off a 7-month hiatus for Jenine Sahadi; suspect she won't be wound tight for comeback.
Long Shot - Marenka
Race 8 - 5 furlongs, Purse $20,000, Maiden claiming $40,000, 2-year-olds
Swiss Alpine - Ran a winning race for this low class level last time; if he improves one step, he'll probably beat these.
Ambassy - Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; maintains value with low percentage connections.
Long Shot - Got Along Going
Best Bet - Apoplectic (race 5)
Hollywood Sunday- Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 15/6/$40.20; Long Shots, 8/0/$0; Best Bet, 1/1/$3.00
Hollywood Totals - 489/128/$833.40; Long Shots, 248/21/$223.40; Best Bets, 28/15/$63.40
