Lady Rebels fall at Loyola Marymount, 71-67

The UNLV women’s basketball team fell behind by 12 points midway through the first half and never recovered in a 71-67 loss to Loyola Marymount on Saturday in Los Angeles.

Alana Cesarz led the Lady Rebels (2-7) with 20 points and eight rebounds. Danielle Miller scored 15 and reserve Amanda Anderson 13, and reserve Aley Rohde grabbed 10 rebounds.

Loyola Marymount (3-7) took the lead for good with a 15-1 run that gave the Lions a 20-8 lead with 12:22 left in the first half. They led 63-52 with 3:24 to play before UNLV ended the game on a 15-8 run.

The Rebels committed 17 turnovers, leading to 22 points, and had 10 fewer offensive rebounds than Loyola Marymount.
