O’Keefe gets first shutout of season in Wranglers’ 2-0 win

Mitch O’Keefe stopped all 33 shots he faced Saturday night to record his first shutout of the season and help Las Vegas to a 2-0 ECHL victory at Bakersfield, the Wranglers’ first regulation win in more than a month.

Las Vegas had managed just two shootout victories in its past 14 games since a home win over the Condors on Dec. 6.

Adam Hughesman scored 31 seconds into the game to put Las Vegas ahead, and Justin Bernhardt netted his first goal of the year late in the second period. John Armstrong assisted on both goals.

O’Keefe faced 16 shots in the third period as the Condors outshot the Wranglers 33-23.

Las Vegas heads to Alaska for three games beginning at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday.
