Derrick Jones Jr. expects to play for UNLV on Saturday

UNLV forward Derrick Jones Jr., who limped off the court in the final minute of Wednesday's 64-61 victory over San Jose State, isn't seriously injured and is expected to play this weekend.

Rebels interim coach Todd Simon didn't elaborate, but said in a text message that Jones should be good to go. The Rebels play Colorado State at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Jones finished with 14 points and 18 rebounds against San Jose State. For the season, he has averaged 10.7 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.

Also, Simon said the status of forward Stephen Zimmerman Jr. has not changed. Zimmerman sprained his left knee on Saturday at Fresno State, and is listed as out indefinitely.
