Mountain West sets dates for non-conference games
February 11, 2016 - 4:03 pm
The Mountain West on Thursday announced the 2016 non-conference football schedules for all 12 league schools.
Dates for conference games will be announced in coming weeks.
Playing in two six-team divisions, each team have five intra-divisional games and three cross-divisional contests. Each school will have four home and four road league games. This is the fourth year the Mountain West has used this format.
The league opener will be Aug. 27, when Hawaii hosts California. As announced earlier this week, UNLV will open the season Sept. 1 against Jackson State. The Rebels also will play at UCLA, at Central Michigan and hosting Idaho.
Nevada-Reno might have the league's toughest non-conference road schedule, playing at Notre Dame and Purdue.
