UNLV’s Kyle Saxelid named to preseason Good Works Team
July 13, 2016 - 4:14 pm
UNLV offensive tackle Kyle Saxelid is one of 81 Football Bowl Subdivision nominees for the 2016 Allstate American Football Coaches Association Good Works Team.
The award recognizes a select group of college football players who’ve made a commitment to service and enriching the lives of others. Saxelid, a junior returning starter at left tackle, was an Academic All-Mountain West honoree the past two years, serves as the football team’s representative on the UNLV Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and has an extensive history of community service.
The Rebels have had four players earn a spot on the team, which requires each player to be actively involved with a charitable organization or service group while maintaining a strong academic standing: receiver Casey Flair (2007), defensive end Leon Moore (2005), defensive back Jamaal Brimmer (2004) and offensive lineman Tony Terrell (2002).
