UNLV honors men's golfer Penner, women's tennis player Josifoska

Men’s golfer Kevin Penner and women’s tennis player Aleksandra Josifoska have been named UNLV’s Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year, the school announced Thursday.

Penner, who completed his senior season, was an honorable mention All-American for the second straight season. He won the individual Mountain West Championship title and led UNLV in scoring with an average of 72.11 over 35 rounds. He posted 11 rounds in the 60s.

Josifoska finished her junior season ranked 43rd in the nation and was named Mountain West Player of the Year. She was 7-0 against league opponents and is 21-1 in her career in the Mountain West. She finished the season with a 34-9 overall record, including seven wins against opponents that ended the year ranked in the top 100.
