UNLV picked to take third in MW volleyball poll

The UNLV volleyball team was picked to place third in the Mountain West’s preseason poll, and senior middle blocker Madeline Westman, a two-time all-conference selection, has been named to the preseason team.

It’s the first time in conference history, since 1999, that the Rebels have been picked to finish higher than fourth place. UNLV returns six starters from a squad that went 18-11 last season and placed third in the conference with a 10-6 record.

San Diego State claimed the top spot in the poll of the league’s 11 coaches, and Aztecs setter Johnna Fouch was named the MW’s preseason player of the year.
