Wranglers snap losing streak

John Armstrong scored early in the third period to force overtime and the Las Vegas Wranglers eventually defeated Utah 3-2 in a shootout in West Valley City on Tuesday night.

The Wranglers last victory came on Dec. 11, also in a shootout, over the Colorado Eagles.

Chris Francis had tied the game at 1-1 for Las Vegas early in the first period after the Grizzlies jumped out with a goal just 90 seconds into the contest. Utah regained the lead late in the second period.

Francis, Chad Nehring and Jeff May all scored in the shootout for Las Vegas. The Wranglers and Grizzlies meet again in Utah tonight at 6:05 p.m.
