Vegas Tech Fund helps bring Teamly to valley

The Vegas Tech Fund has lured yet another business to Southern Nevada.

Teamly, which has created an online application to improve companies’ project workflow, said Wednesday that it raised $250,000 with the help of the Vegas Tech Fund. The $50 million fund is part of Zappos.com CEO Tony Hsieh’s $350 million Downtown Project, designed to revitalize the city’s urban core.

Teamly co-founder and CEO Scott Allison said the company has moved from San Francisco to Las Vegas to join downtown’s revival.

“We’re excited to be here in Las Vegas, in a very supportive and growing tech community which in many ways is an accelerator in itself,” Allison said in a statement. “Already we’re seeing the benefits of being part of such a tight-knit community.”

Teamly’s Tasks team-management platform turns co-workers’ posts on an internal social-media wall into an organized list of action items. The system lets companies track task status by due date, subject assigned and number of followers, and it emails reminders to remind workers of tasks they need to complete.

Employees can share progress on their network’s wall, and praise and encourage colleagues as they wrap up specific tasks.

Teamly Tasks uses Tibco’s tibbr social-enterprise platform.

It’s not the first relocation for Teamly: The company moved from London to San Francisco in 2011. Before its most recent round of funding, Teamly had raised $200,000 from angels and from California-based fund 500 Startups.
