Man’s speech returns when he’s with family dog

A man who has Alzheimer’s disease has his speech return when he’s with the family dog.

And the precious moment was caught on video.

The video, which was uploaded to YouTube Thursday by the man’s daughter, notes that he has lost almost all of his speech.

“My father has Alzheimer’s. This is what happens when he is with our dog,” Lisa Abeyta says in the description of the video.

His speech returns, and it’s quite understandable.

“Oh yeah, hey! You’ve got, you’ve got something,” the father says to the dog. “You’ve got something! Huh?”

Abeyta’s father continues talking to the dog, and what he says next will break your heart.

“Yeah, well, that, that’s too bad, there. That’s all. That’s all I’ve got. Why don’t I take care. I’ll take you. And you take me,” he says as he’s trying to convey that he will take care of the dog, if the dog will take care of him.

Abeyta ends the video with, “If your parents can still talk to you, please listen. You never know when will be the last time.”
