Glass Craft & Bead Expo: The 21st annual event is planned from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 1 and 2 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 3 at the South Point, 9777 Las Vegas Blvd. South. The event will offer nearly 150 booths and 70 tabletops, as well as demonstrations in flameworking and other glass art techniques. The meeting place for this hike is within Las Vegas city limits and will be provided to participants upon registration. Call for musicians: The nonprofit Las Vegas Young Artists Orchestra is seeking applications for its new Academy Orchestra program for youths 15 or younger who show significant potential. The free program will welcome up to 50 new students who will work alongside internationally recognized guest artists and perform regularly throughout the year. The application deadline is April 8.
