1. Imagination Celebration: The seventh annual family art and musical festival is scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 10 at Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South, in partnership with the Nevada Youth Alliance. "Walk the Line" is set to be shown on a movie theater-size, outdoor inflatable screen. Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival:The 22nd annual festival is set to return to Sunset Park, 2601 E. Sunset Road, Oct. 9-11. More than 200 artisans, historical re-enactments, and food and drink are planned. With traditional musical performances from Wicked Tinkers, Dread Crew of Oddwood, Bogtrotter's Union and Killian's Angels, and the return of the dinner theater, this year's event is set to feature several smaller stages with entertainment by the Gypsy Time Travelers, Mullaney, Nature of Mercy, Whiskey Bards and costumed performers such as the Bawdy Juggler Adam Reid, Endless Productions and the Snake Army. Vegas Valley Book Festival: The 2015 festival is set for Oct. 15-17 in downtown Las Vegas and at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road. The largest annual literary event in Nevada, the festival brings together a wide variety of literary genres and cultural programs, with most events taking place Saturday at the Historic Fifth Street School, 401 S. Fourth St. More than 120 authors and 50 events are planned, including panel discussions, keynote speakers, readings, book signings, workshops, vendor exhibits, art exhibitions, spoken word performances and other special programs for a diversity of genres, ages and cultural backgrounds. Keynote speakers will be Brad Meltzer, author of "The Inner Circle," "Book of Fate" and "The President's Shadow," and Colum McCann, author of six novels and two story collections and the recipient of the National Book Award for "Let the Great World Spin." Summerlin Festival of the Arts: The 20th annual festival is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 10 and 11 at Downtown Summerlin, 1980 Festival Plaza Drive. More than 100 artists and craftspeople are set to showcase and sell upscale, original artwork, including paintings, pottery, photography, jewelry and handcrafted pieces made from wood, glass and metal. This year's event also is set to showcase big-name entertainment, more children's art activities, and food and beverage offerings from Downtown Summerlin restaurants. Live entertainment is set to include headliner Clint Holmes and a special appearance by performers from Cirque du Soleil's "Zarkana."
