Erik Brewer, 19, a student at Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa, has been named Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year 2012-13 and was chosen as a member of the All-MCAC men’s basketball team.

Brewer, a graduate of Cimarron-Memorial High School, is the son of Derek and Amelia Brewer of Las Vegas.

Alyssa D’Agostino, 21, was crowned Miss Silver State at Texas Station on Feb. 17.

She is scheduled to compete in the Miss Nevada America competition June 14-15.

A 2009 graduate of Las Vegas High School, D’Agostino attends the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, majoring in broadcast journalism.

Aaron Bull, 16, has achieved Eagle Scout status in the Boy Scouts of America.

A member of Troop 912, he organized food drives for Three Square food bank and collected more than 3,700 pounds of food for his Eagle project.

Bull is a junior at Advanced Technologies Academy, where he is involved in computer science, digital game design, website design and robotics.

He enjoys basketball, hiking, backpacking and swimming and hopes to make a career in computer science.

Bull is the son of John and Susan Bull of Las Vegas.

Jerrod Crouch, 15, has achieved Eagle Scout status in the Boy Scouts of America.

A member of Troop 474, Jerrod helped with landscaping at Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs for his Eagle project.

A freshman at Liberty High School, he plays football and volleyball.

He hopes to make a career in automobile design.

Jerrod is the son of Derek and Kristine Crouch of Henderson.

Kyle Stewart has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

A 2011 graduate of Foothill High School, Stewart is the son of Jodie Stewart and nephew of Marcie Herman, both of Henderson.

Hector Madrigal has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

A 2012 graduate of Southeast Career Technical Academy, Madrigal is the son of Hector and Eliza Madrigal of Las Vegas.

Toni Wise of Las Vegas was named to the dean’s list at the University of Maine at Presque Isle Provost for the fall 2012 semester.

Naomi Jones of Las Vegas has earned a master’s degree from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Ill.

Justine Espersen of Las Vegas was named to the dean’s list at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill., for the fall 2012 semester.

Joshua Stimmell, an Army staff sergeant, has returned to the U.S. after being deployed overseas at a forward operation base to serve in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

He is a fire support specialist assigned to the fourth Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska.

He has served in the military for 10 years.

Stimmell is the son of David Stimmell of Las Vegas and Jenny McGarvey of Shorewood, Ill.
