Dining Pick of the Week: Buon Gusto Ristorante

Buon Gusto Ristorante

2642 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway at South Eastern Avenue; 702-407-6600

Buon Gusto is a little bit of New York with design-your-own thin and crispy pizza and a traditional “Back East” menu. That menu includes chicken and veal dinners (Marsala, parmigiana, Angelo, milanaise, piccata, Francaise) served with bread, soup or salad and a side of penne marinara, penne garlic and oil, or vegetables. Featured pastas are gnocchi with tomato or pesto cream sauce, cannelloni, manicotti, linguini with white or red clam sauce, baked ziti (meatball, sausage), spaghetti with meatballs, capellini pomodoro, ravioli, and penne with broccoli. The New York-style eggplant, a favorite because it is made according to a 70-year-old Brooklyn recipe, is breaded and fried eggplant topped with sauce and mozzarella. Several seafood entrees are shrimp scampi and linguine del mar (baby clams, shrimp, calamari, mussels, roasted garlic, Sicilian sauce). There are large salads and desserts such as tiramisu, cannoli and Chef Joel’s Homemade Bread Pudding with hot rum sauce. Lunch pizzas begin at $8.95, and dinner entrees start at $10.95. Buon Gusto Ristorante is open from 3:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday for takeout only.
