Stephano’s, a UNLV favorite since 1998, is becoming a Green Valley favorite. This new location continues its reputation for quick service and very good Mediterranean food. Among the selections are Ultimate Greek Grilled Cheese with feta, mozzarella, garlic sauce, red pepper, mint flakes and olive oil toasted between two pitas. Features plates are spinach pie, lamb shank, tri-tip steak shawarma, flame grilled chicken (quarter, half, whole), kebabs and kofta, seasoned ground beef with rice pilaf. There are rice bowls (chicken kebab, filet mignon kekab, veggie kebab) served with Israeli salad and pita, pita wraps and french fries that can be topped with crumbled feta and oregano or choice of meat with tabbouleh, hummus, tomatoes and red onions. Large salads, made with tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, feta and olives, include Greek, beef and lamb gyro, falafel and chicken shawarma. Several desserts are homemade bite-sized baklava, rice pudding, Greek yogurt with honey and grilled Nutella pita. Salads begin at $7.95 and rice bowls at $9.76. Stephano’s is open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
