DOCTOR JOINS HENDERSON PEDIATRIC ENDOCRINOLOGY CLINIC

Dignity Health Medical Group welcomed Dr. Amy Darukhanavala to practice at its Dream Fund Pediatric Endocrinology Clinic, 10001 S. Eastern Ave., Suite 209, in June.

Darukhanavala specializes in thyroid and adrenal disorders, type 1 diabetes and growth disorders. She also has an interest in pediatric obesity, weight management and prevention of type 2 diabetes.

LIBRARY TO OFFER COMPUTER CLASS

The Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway, plans a computer class from 10 to 11:30 a.m. July 9. The class is set to cover the basics of Microsoft Word 2010, including creating and saving a file, copying and pasting text, setting margins and font variations.

United Blood Services plans a blood drive from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 6 near Dick’s Sporting Goods in the Galleria at Sunset mall, 1300 W. Sunset Road.

NEW PATIENT CARE CENTER OPENED JUNE 24

The University of Nevada School of Medicine opened a new patient care center June 24 at 3175 St. Rose Parkway.

The center is staffed by almost 30 physicians and is set to treat conditions such as asthma, allergies, endocrine imbalances, high blood pressure and cholesterol, infections, sports injuries, menopausal symptoms and obesity.
