FERRARO’S LAUNCHES MOUNT CHARLESTON RELIEF MENU TO BENEFIT RED CROSS

Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant, 4480 Paradise Road, is offering a Mount Charleston Relief menu to benefit the American Red Cross with providing assistance for those evacuated due to the Carpenter 1 Fire.

The four-course menu is $50 (tax included) and is available July 10-17 from 11:30 a.m. to close.

Ferraro’s is also requesting the community bring sealed cases of water directly to the restaurant, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

GOLDEN GAMING PLANS FUNDRAISER FOR VICTIMS OF WILDFIRE

Golden Gaming, operator of PT’s and Sierra Gold taverns in Southern Nevada, is partnering with the American Red Cross to support the Fire Hurts Red Cross Helps campaign to aid victims of home and wild land fires, such as the Carpenter 1 Fire on Mount Charleston.

PT’s and Sierra Gold locations will allow patrons to add a donation to the top of their food and beverage bill.

CRAZY PITA ANNOUNCES EXPANSION PLANS

Crazy Pita plans to open three new restaurants in Southern Nevada. The only current location is at 2225 Village Walk Drive, No. 175, in The District at Green Valley Ranch.

New locations are planned at Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South, and Fashion Show mall, 3200 Las Vegas Blvd. South, and are expected to open by the end of the year. A third new location is slated to open in fall 2014 at the Shops at Summerlin on West Charleston Boulevard near the Las Vegas Beltway.

SILVERTON PLANS POLYNESIAN BUFFET IN JULY

The Silverton, 3333 Blue Diamond Road, plans to host a specialty Polynesian buffet at the Seasons Buffet from 4 to 10 p.m. Saturdays in July. The cost is $19.99 with a Rewards Club card and $21.99 without a card. The menu is set to include pork lau lau, ahi poke and coconut yams.

GOLD MINE TAVERN TO RAISE FUNDS FOR PROJECT 150

Gold Mine Tavern, 23 S. Water St., plans to put a twist on its Wednesday Ladies’ Night from 8 p.m. to close July 10 to benefit Project 150, a nonprofit that helps local homeless teens. The organization will receive the proceeds from a charity raffle. Donations also will be collected.

Skinnygirl will provide free cocktails to women from 8 to 10 p.m. Local group Hashtag will provide entertainment and street tacos and other Mexican specialties will be available for sale. This event is for guests 21 or older.

BORDER GRILL PLANS TRASH FISH DINNER JULY 22

Border Grill at Mandalay Bay, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to team with rm seafood’s Rick Moonen, chefs Jet Tila and Michael Leviton and Chefs Collaborative to host a Trash Fish Dinner at 6:30 p.m. July 22.

The dinner will feature alternatives to seafood, including underutilized species such as Pacific sardines, California squid, farm-raised sturgeon and porgy. During the event, Sheila Bowman of Monterey Bay Aquarium and Seafood Watch will speak about the seafood offered and why each was selected.

Rí Rá at The Shoppes at Mandalay Place, 3930 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is offering a new breakfast menu from 8 to 11 a.m. Mondays through Fridays for dine-in or takeout.

The Quick Bites menu includes The Breakfast Sandwich ($6.95) with egg, bacon and cheese on a grilled roll, and continental breakfast ($7) with pastry, fruit and coffee or tea on the side. Dine-in guests’ choices include eggs ($7.95), Banger or Rasher sandwich ($4.95) and Irish smoked salmon ($14.95).

New to the lunch and dinner appetizer selections are steamed mussels ($13.95). Smashburger is pulling back the curtain on its secret menu with its newest shake, the Peanut Butter & Jelly, taken from its secret menu of items created by guests. The shake combines Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream with strawberry syrup and crushed Nutter Butter cookies.
