Dining Pick of the Week: Dulce Donuts

Dulce Donuts

701 N. Decatur Blvd. at West Washington Avenue; 702-439-0024

The sweet pastry treats at Dulce Donuts can be shaped into rings or rectangles, and glazed or topped with frostings and assorted nuts and sprinkles, and even filled with fruit preserves and custard. There are even doughnut holes. And keep in mind that no matter where you travel in the world, you can find some variation of the doughnut. Dulce has nearly 18 assorted choices, including long johns, coconut, peanut, chocolate cake, old fashioned, French cruller, strawberry and lemon jelly and cinnamon apple. There are also sandwiches, muffins, smoothies and ice cream. Sandwiches are made on a bagel or a croissant and include cheese and egg with ham or chorizo, and rancheros (egg with pico de gallo). Several muffins are banana nut and blueberry and a square cheesecake muffin called Quesadilla. Among the smoothies are mango, strawberry, French vanilla and mocha. Featured ice cream flavors are strawberry, almond fudge, cheesecake, coconut and butter pecan. Enjoy your doughnut with coffee, milk or fruit juice. A dozen mixed donuts is $7.99, and sandwiches start at $3.19. Dulce Donuts is open 24/7.
