WORTH A DRIVE

The Las Vegas Pride Festival is set to celebrate its 30th anniversary from noon to 10 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Clark County Amphitheater, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway. More than 100 exhibitors, stage performances, a food court and family activity zone are planned. The Pride Night Parade is scheduled for Sept. 6, with pre-parade entertainment set for 7 to 8 p.m. at the Parade Main Stage at Fourth Street and Bridger Avenue. Visit lasvegaspride.org.

The 2013 season of Super Summer Theatre is into its last show at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, roughly 10 miles west of the Las Vegas Beltway on Charleston Boulevard/state Route 159. The Las Vegas Harvest Festival’s Art and Craft Show is planned from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 6-7 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 8 at Cashman Center, 850 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Crafts are to include woodcarvings, jewelry, pottery, clothing, toys, paintings, food and more. General admission tickets are $9, but attendees who bring in a can of food, baby food, formula or paper products will receive $2. Senior tickets are $7, and children 13-17 are $4. Students at the College of Southern Nevada and members of the Las Vegas theatre community will join together to direct and perform one-act plays scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4 and 5 and 2 p.m. Oct. 6 at the BackStage Theatre, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. General admission is $5. Seating is limited. Experienced actors and directors, as well as those who are new to theatre, are encouraged to participate. North Las Vegas is set to open Craig Ranch Regional Park, 628 W. Craig Ranch Road, at 9 a.m. Oct. 25, with free all-day celebrations and an evening concert. Festivities will go until 4 p.m. and be followed by a surprise celebrity concert at 6 p.m. The 170-acre park offers multiple playgrounds, gazebos for weddings, corporate retreats and birthday parties, a five-acre dog park and 64 community garden plots, as well as a four-bowl skate park, athletic fields and bucolic scenery. The North Las Vegas recreation division’s activity schedule of classes, sports and recreation programs is available.
