Shelby Shadwell “COMEDIE”: The free exhibition is planned during regular gallery hours through May 28 inside the College of Southern Nevada Fine Arts Gallery, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. The exhibition is set to feature large-scale drawings by Shelby Shadwell, University of Wyoming associate professor of drawing. Ranger-Led Night Hike: The hike is planned through Sandstone Canyon from 7 to 9 p.m. May 26 starting at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, 6375 state Route 159. The hike is roughly 2 miles and goes over uneven terrain. Attendees should be 7 or older, wear close-toed shoes and bring water and a flashlight. Blues & Brews Festival: A festival featuring local, regional and international brewers and bands The 44’s, Shanda & The Howlers, and The Lucky Cheats is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. May 28 at the Springs Preserve, 333 S. Civil War experience: Guests can try on Civil War uniforms and learn to march and drill in formation with input from historic re-enactors at 10 a.m. May 28 and June 25 at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, 6375 state Route 159, about 10 miles west of the 215 Beltway. At 1 p.m. May 28, visitors can also step back in time with a visit to the porch of the ranch’s sandstone cabin where a ranger plans to do dutch oven cooking and firearms demonstrations. “The Collective”: The Global Citizenship Service at Cirque du Soleil plans to host its 11th annual free art exhibition at Eden Gallery inside The Arts Factory, 107 E. Charleston Blvd., from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursdays through Mondays through June 14. A special reception is set from 6 to 8 p.m. June 2. The exhibit features artwork by the company’s performers, technicians and support staff in Las Vegas.
