PASSPORT TO PARADISE CHARITY EVENT SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 25

HELP of Southern Nevada plans its annual Passport to Paradise from 7-10 p.m. April 25, at the Rio, 3700 W. Flamingo Road.

“Attendees will enjoy an evening in paradise complete with live entertainment, culinary delights and silent auction items. The event will also feature local radio personality Chet Buchanan as the evening’s master of ceremonies,” according to a press release from HELP of Southern Nevada.

HELP of Southern Nevada operates nine departments, consists of 97 employees and serves more than 103,000 unique clients each year.

The services HELP provides assist low-income families, homeless teens and adults and other individuals to become more self-sufficient through direct services, training and referrals.

Programs that are available include the Shannon West Homeless Youth Center, emergency resources services, Framing Hope Warehouse, weatherization, community alternative sentencing, Work Opportunities Readiness Center, holiday assistance, Nevada 211 and homeless outreach.

CLARK COUNTY LIBRARY TO HOLD BUSINESS 101: GETTING MONEY FOR YOUR BUSINESS

Business 101: Getting Money for Your Business is scheduled at 6 p.m. April 17 at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

The free event will take place in the library’s Jewel Box Theater.

The session will cover startup costs, funding, what approaches banks take when considering loans and what lenders look for, according to an announcement from the library.

The presentation will feature representatives from SCORE.

“A resource partner of the Small Business Administration, SCORE, is the oldest and largest small business consulting organization in Nevada,” the release said.

MORNING MINGLE SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 29

The Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce plans its Morning Mingle from 7:30-9:30 a.m. April 29.

The event is set to take place at the SpringHill Suites near the Las Vegas Convention Center, 2989 Paradise Road.
