Sam’s Town, 5111 Boulder Highway, is hosting its winter display at Mystic Falls Park. The event is set to include a 15-minute laser show hourly, from 5 to 10 p.m. through Jan. 1. The Glittering Lights holiday drive-through is scheduled through Jan. 5 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, 7000 Las Vegas Blvd. North. The event is set to feature more than 400 animated lights along a 2.5-mile racetrack. The event is scheduled to be open from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5:30 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Admission is $15 per vehicle on weeknights and $20 Friday through Sunday and holidays. The first 15,000 vehicles will receive a gift bag filled with goodies. WORTH A DRIVE

Golden Retriever Rescue Southern Nevada plans its holiday gift-wrapping fundraiser from Nov. 29 through December. Shop at participating stores and meet some golden retrievers. The gift-wrapping effort is free, but donations will be accepted. Donations help fund the rescue group’s programs and cover costs such as veterinary care. The Walnut Recreation Center, 3075 N. Walnut Road, is scheduled to host Walnut’s Winterbreak Skate from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Dec. 20. The free event invites guests to bring their roller or inline skates. Holiday crafts, caroling and snacks are also planned.

The Sunrise Library, 5400 E. Harris Ave., plans to host a Guitar Basics for Beginners class from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 21. Players will learn tuning, simple chords and a song. No registration is required, and the class is free, but players must bring their own guitars. Call 702-507-3907.
