T-Bones Chophouse & Lounge in Red Rock Resort, 11011 W. Charleston Blvd., plans to host a four-course tasting menu paired with craft beers from various beermakers at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 27.

CHEF KERRY SIMON TO SPEARHEAD EVENT FOR KEEP MEMORY ALIVE

Chef Kerry Simon, who announced in December that he has multiple system atrophy, has partnered with Keep Memory Alive, the charitable arm of the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, to raise research funds during an event set for 7 p.m. Feb. 27. The culinary and music-centric spectacular will be held in the Keep Memory Alive Event Center, 888 W. Bonneville Ave., and will feature celebrity chefs and live entertainment. A VIP after-party is planned at Kerry’s Simon Restaurant and Lounge at Palms Place, 4381 W. Flamingo Road.

Chefs set to attend include Daniel Boulud, Kim Canteenwalla, Wylie DuFresne, Grant Macpherson, Michael Mina, Rick Moonen and Megan Romano. Alice Cooper, Sammy Hagar, Vince Neil and Slash are set to join house band Sin City Sinners to entertain.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF FRENCH MASTER CHEFS TO CONVENE IN LAS VEGAS

The 59th General Assembly of French Master Chefs plans to convene at The Venetian and Palazzo March 5-9 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the American and Canadian delegations and the U.S. Chapter of l’Academie Culinaire De France.

Nearly 150 master chefs will review the previous year’s accomplishments, look ahead to next year and find ways to help other communities promote upcoming events. Spring Las Vegas Restaurant Week to benefit Three Square food bank is planned March 7-14, with participating valley restaurants set to offer special menus ranging from $20.14 to $50.14.

LES KINCAID TO CONTINUE WINE CLASSES

Les Kincaid, host of the radio wine show “Wines Du Jour,” plans to host the class The Appellations of California Wine from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays March 12-26 at Total Wine & More in Boca Park, 730 S. Rampart Blvd. A wine bearing the California appellation ensures consumers that 100 percent of the grapes were grown in California. This class will offer tastings of three of the 12 different appellations, including Santa Barbara, Monterey County and Paso Robles. A brief overview of each will be discussed, along with winery suggestions for future wine country visits.

GREAT VEGAS FESTIVAL OF BEER COMING TO DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS APRIL 26

The 2014 Great Vegas Festival of Beer is planned from 4 to 8 p.m. (early entry and VIP entry at 3 p.m.) April 26 in the Fremont East Entertainment District in downtown Las Vegas.

Motley Brews plans to expand the festival to accommodate the local beer scene and feature more than 250 brews from more than 80 breweries. A new focus will be on beer-inspired culinary menus, mixology, educational elements, interactive exhibits and live music.

A portion of ticket sales will go to the Nevada Craft Brewers Association. Early bird tickets are on sale through Feb. 16, when adjusted standard pricing takes effect. General admission tickets start at $30, early entry tickets start at $40 and the Brewers Lounge VIP tickets start at $70.
