Plan for lots of sun, heat during Memorial Day weekend in Las Vegas Valley

The Memorial Day weekend’s warm weather will continue into next week, when the Las Vegas Valley is expected to have its first 100-degree day of the year, according to the National Weather Service.

“There’s a warming trend,” meteorologist Stan Czyzyk said.

Monday and Tuesday will have highs in the 90s with sunny skies, the weather service said. The average for this time of year is 94 degrees, meteorologist Barry Pierce said.

By Wednesday, the first day of June, the high temperature is expected to be 100, Pierce said, the first 100-degree day of this year. The valley hit 99 degrees May 13, he said.
