Slight chance of rain this weekend in Las Vegas Valley

Cooler temperatures and chances of rain are expected this weekend in the Las Vegas Valley.

After an overnight low of 82 degrees, the valley saw a high of 101 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Wind speeds are forecast to reach around 15 mph with gusts up to 35 mph, National Weather Service meteorologist Chris Outler said.

The valley will see similar winds on Friday with gusts up to 30 mph. Winds on Saturday and Sunday are expected to be “a lot calmer,” Outler said, with speeds around 15 to 20 mph.

There is a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms in the valley on Friday and Saturday, Outler said. By Sunday, the valley is expected to be “pretty dry,” he said.

The high on Friday is forecast for 98 degrees with 96 on Saturday and 100 on Sunday, the weather service said.
