Warmer and sunny on Thursday in Las Vegas Valley

The Las Vegas Valley should be back to warm spring weather on Thursday.

According to National Weather Service Meteorologist Justin Pullin, the valley is expected to be “sunny and clear” on Thursday with a high of 76 degrees and a low of 55 degrees.

Temperatures should reach 80 degrees on Sunday, Pullin said. A weather system passing through the valley on Sunday will bring in cooler temperatures lasting until Tuesday.

These temperatures are fairly normal, Pullin said. The valley has had above-normal, seasonal temperatures by about 10 to 15 degrees the last few weeks but, the weather system is keeping the temperatures steady.

Because of the weather system on Sunday, the valley will get some winds from 10 to 15 miles per hour with gusts up to 20 mph, Pullin said.

Spring in the Las Vegas Valley is typically pretty windy, Pullin said.

Despite the slight drop in temperatures, the snow on Mount Charleston has been melting quite fast, he said. The fire station at Mount Charleston has reported no snow depth. Just last month the area had about an inch of snow on the ground.
