Wednesday’s temperature may near record amid warming trend, weather service says

Wednesday’s warm, clear conditions are setting the tone for the next week in Las Vegas, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures at McCarran International Airport were about 70 degrees 2 p.m. Monday, and were expected to inch up a few more degrees through the evening, meteorologist Chris Outler said.

The valley will probably to tie the record high temperature for Wednesday, 74 degrees, but whether we’ll break the record is “yet to be seen,” Outler said.

Highs are expected to stick right around 74 degrees, well below the record high temperatures, through Saturday and lows are forecast in the mid- to upper 40s at night.

Sunday’s high should fall to 71 degrees, but aside from breezes near Lake Mead Recreational Area, conditions will remain calm, Outler said.
