Family not hopeful of finding missing brother alive

The family of a man missing since January hasn’t given up its search but has lowered its expectations. “We’re looking for his body,” said Jeffrey Goldberg, the man’s brother. Keith Goldberg, 54, disappeared Jan. 31 after leaving his east valley apartment. He was captured on a surveillance camera near Las Vegas Boulevard South and St. Rose Parkway that morning.

Prosecutors present Whittemore case to grand jury

Prosecutors today began presenting their criminal case against lobbyist Harvey Whittemore to a federal grand jury. The FBI has been investigating allegations the political power broker funneled tens of thousands of dollars in illegal campaign contributions to Nevada federal races.

Water Authority board OKs rate increases

The Southern Nevada Water Authority board used February’s extra day to push through a rate increase that will boost most residential bills by about $5 a month starting in May.
