Avalanche dogs train for rescue role at Mount Charleston’s Lee Canyon

Carson, a black Labrador retriever plows into a snowbank, sinks his teeth into a red and blue blanket, and yanks a skier into the blinding sunlight at the Lee Canyon ski resort. For the 11-month old pup, it might just seem like some playful fun. But for avalanche dog handlers Michelle and Greg French, it’s serious training that could one day save a life.
