In response to your Monday story, “Treatment clinic imperiled”:
It is a damn shame that the state and local governments are pushing for bonds to pay for a stadium to house a second-rate band of thugs known as the Raiders, but they do not want to pony up money to help citizens who desperately need places such as Westcare. We turn our backs on the hungry, sick, homeless, but we should pay for football? Shameful.
Interest rates, greedy developers are the main issue.

For low-income people, I agree with the concept of tax credits to help offset the cost of insurance premiums. However, I question the current eligibility requirement of four times the poverty level.
These factors are why housing costs are a challenge. To expect the government to make housing affordable is a fool’s errand.
Why should the citizens of this county have to pay such compensation when they, too, were injured?
