Miller scores 30, sparks Lady Rebels to overtime win
Danielle Miller scored 30 points, including a tying jumper with 13 seconds left in regulation, to lead the UNLV women’s basketball team to a 72-68 overtime win over San Jose State in a Mountain West game Saturday in San Jose, Calif.
Miller opened the extra session with a three-point play and a layup to give the Lady Rebels (5-9, 2-1) a lead they didn’t relinquish as they halted the Spartans’ six-game home win streak.
Amie Callaway had 16 points and Alana Cesarz 12 rebounds for UNLV, which held San Jose State (8-6, 2-2) without a field goal over a 7:43 stretch in the first half.
Ta’Rea Cunnigan had 24 points and Rebecca Woodberry 17 for the Spartans, who trailed 29-28 at halftime.
