Flamingo Road finally back to normal near the Strip
Flamingo Road road near the Strip is fully reopened after a water main break shut down several lanes for two days.
Crews had been working on repairs since Monday morning. The break affected traffic on Flamingo between Koval Lane and Las Vegas Boulevard.
The break happened sometime Sunday night near The Cromwell boutique hotel and casino parking garage, the Las Vegas Valley Water District said.
The cause of the break was system failure on the pipeline due to the age of the infrastructure, which isn’t uncommon, water district spokesman Damon Hodge said Wednesday. The water was turned back on around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.
