Coroner IDS man killed in Saturday night shooting

The man killed in a Saturday night shooting has been identified by the Clark County coroner‘s office.

He is 28-year-old Daniel Edward Santillana of Las Vegas, the coroner‘s staff said Monday morning.

Metro‘s dispatch received a call just before 11 p.m. Saturday from an adult male saying he and another man had been shot and they were driving to the hospital, Metro officer Laura Meltzer said Sunday.

Police officers met the men at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center where Santillana was pronounced dead on arrival.

The second man suffered nonlife-threatening injuries.

Meltzer said the men were involved in an altercation at an apartment complex east of Boulder Highway when the shooting occurred.

As of Sunday morning, police were trying to identify the location of the incident. No arrests have been made.
