Firefighters extinguish strip mall fire in southeast valley

Firefighters extinguished a strip mall fire Tuesday in the southeast valley, the Clark County Fire Department said in a statement.

Just after 5:20 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to 4810 S. Nellis Blvd., the release said. Initially, the fire began in a dumpster that extended to the building.

The fire extended into the attic space of the building from the dumpster, making it difficult to locate, the release said. The fire was put out at 6:35 p.m., and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Damages have been estimated at $75,000.
