Warm on Thursday before chance of weekend showers in Las Vegas Valley

Cooler weather and scattered showers are moving in over the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

A storm system will come in from the west Thursday night, bringing the windiest of the stormy days with 15 to 20 mph winds and gusts up to 30 mph.

Friday’s high will drop to about 70 degrees with a 50 percent chance of showers in the afternoon. Saturday will also see a high chance of rain in the early morning along with a high of 72 degrees, but showers are less likely in the afternoon. Sunday and Monday have highs in the low to mid-70s and a 20 percent chance for rain, according to the weather service.

After the system passes, the valley will warm up again with highs in the mid- to upper-80s for the rest of the week.
