Dining Pick of the Week: Leticia’s Mexican Cocina

PICK OF THE WEEK:

LETICIA'S MEXICAN COCINA

7585 Norman Rockwell Lane, 702-445-7722

Leticia has a wonderful story to tell. She was born in Mexico City and immigrated to Las Vegas in 1964. But most of all, she wants everyone to enjoy her wonderful food, which she learned to cook from her mother. Lunch and dinner items include enchiladas (chicken, beef, pork, cheese), taquitos or tostadas (shredded chicken, beef, cheesy potato), chile rellenos, burritos and build-your-own-platter to serve up to six people. House specialties include rib-eye steak with Mexican scallop potatoes, Mexican shrimp cocktail, steak or chicken milanesa, and beef, shrimp or chicken fajitas. Among the appetizers are shrimp ceviche, Mexican sliders (shredded pork on mini buns or mini tortillas), mini tostadas, guacamole made fresh to order, nachos, soups and salads. Popular desserts are flan, Mexican fried ice cream, Fluffy Cream Cheesecake, arroz con leche (Mexican rice pudding with cinnamon, vanilla and raisins) and warm bread pudding. Enjoy the wide selection of Mexican beer and tequila. Breakfast is available. Menudo is served Friday through Sunday. Dinner entrees average between $10 and $20. Leticia's Mexican Cocina is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. - Jack Bulavsky
