Henderson's annual WinterFest celebration is set for Thursday through Saturday at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. The Springs Preserve is also set to host Night at the Museum: The Polar Express, an evening of activities to occupy children while parents have a night to themselves, from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday. The 18th annual Shoes for Children shoe drive and benefit performance is slated to feature "The Threepenny Opera" by the Ira Aldridge Theatre Company of Nevada at 7 p.m. today and Wednesday at the Summerlin Library and Performing Arts Center Theatre, 1771 Inner Circle Drive. The show is an adaptation of the 18th century "The Beggar's Opera." Admission is a new pair of children's athletic shoes sized to fit preschoolers to high school youths.
