Two people killed in I-15 accident near Apex
Two people died and three were hospitalized after a Ford pickup towing a trailer overturned while traveling north on Interstate 15 near Apex on Wednesday afternoon.
A Nevada Highway Patrol spokesman said the cause of the 4:30 p.m. accident was unknown.
The people traveling in the truck, believed to be a family, were not immediately identified.
The bodies of an adult female and a 3-year-old child were found at the scene. An adult male and two children were taken the University Medical Center.
The strip of interstate, about 10 miles north of the Las Vegas Speedway, was closed until about 9:30 p.m. while an investigation was being conducted. Traffic was diverted at Apex to state Route 604 northbound. Drivers got back on I-15 at U.S. Highway 93.
