Sandoval to lead trade mission to China and South Korea

CARSON CITY - Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval will be heading overseas in September to lead a trade mission with state business leaders to China and South Korea.

The Republican governor says the goal is to accelerate Nevada's economic development and diversification efforts by expanding the market for state exports and attracting investment in its target industries.

Nevada firms sold $8 billion worth of goods overseas in 2011, with $1.3 billion worth of goods sold to Asian customers. The more than 5 million foreign travelers who visit southern Nevada spend in excess of $5.1 billion on goods and services, with Asian visitors driving a significant portion of that figure.

Sandoval has made economic development and diversification a priority of his administration.
