SIGNINGS

C.S. Goldsmith will sign and discuss "Uninhabitable A Case for Caution" at 4 p.m. Friday at Barnes & Noble, 3860 S. Maryland Parkway.

EVENTS

Herman Groman will sign and discuss "Pigeon Spring" during Elements Kitchen & Martini Bar's seven-course champagne dinner at 6:30 p.m. Monday at 4950 S. Rainbow Blvd. Tickets are $79 (750-2991).

Rainbow Library will offer puppet shows of popular children's stories to celebrate El Dia de los Ninos/El Dia de los Libros (Children's Day/Book Day) at 11 a.m. Tuesday, 11:30 a.m. Wednesday and 10:30 a.m. Thursday at 3150 N. Buffalo Drive.

The Spring Valley Book Discussion Group meets at 1 p.m. the third Sunday of each month at Spring Valley Library, 4280 S. Jones Blvd.

The Classics Book Club meets at 7 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month at Green Valley Library, 2797 N. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Borders bookstore, 2190 N. Rainbow Blvd., has a writers' group at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays.

The Henderson Writers Group meets at 6:30 p.m. the first, third and fifth Mondays of the month at Saxby's Coffee Lounge, 72 Horizon Ridge Parkway, Henderson, and 6:30 p.m. the second and fourth Mondays of the month at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, 4550 S. Maryland Parkway.

The monthly Poet's Corner is at 7:30 p.m. the third Friday of the month at the West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd.

STORY TIMES

Story time with music and crafts is offered Tuesdays at 11 a.m. at Barnes & Noble, 567 N. Stephanie St., Henderson.

Story time in the Square is offered at 11 a.m. Wednesdays in Children's Park at Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Individual libraries within the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District offer a variety of story times and special events for children of all ages throughout the year. Call the libraries for details.
