Big seventh inning lifts 51s past Reno

A nine-run seventh inning carried the 51s to a 12-9 win over the host Reno Aces in a Pacific Coast League game Friday.

Adam Calderone hit a two-run triple and Jason Lane a two-run double in Las Vegas' big inning, which featured seven hits -- including a double and a single by Aaron Mathews and two singles by Danny Perales -- and three walks.

In total, the 51s (51-56) drew 10 walks off five Aces pitchers, and four Las Vegas pitchers combined to issue just two walks. That helped the 51s overcome a 17-12 disparity in hits and three errors compared with none by Reno (46-61).

J.P. Arencibia hit his PCL-leading 30th homer of the year and two sacrifice flies. Lane had two doubles and three RBIs.

Josh Roenicke (6-0) earned the win by working two innings in relief of starter Sean Henn, who gave up six runs on 13 hits in five innings. Jeremy Accardo used just nine pitches in a 1-2-3 ninth, with two strikeouts, to earn his 20th save.
