Following the lead of their namesake, the Vegas Junior Golden Knights have won the West in unprecedented fashion. The Pee-Wee AA 12-and-under hockey team recently claimed the crown of the International Silver Stick Western regional qualifying tournament at the Las Vegas Ice Center.
The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles and the Knights announced Tuesday that fans can now purchase “Vegas Born”-branded license plates, according to a press release from the team.
The “Vegas Golden Knights: Vegas Born, Vegas Strong” float will bear Knights defenseman Deryk Engelland and his family, accompanied by the team’s Golden Aces cheerleaders, the KnightLine drummers and the Golden Knight.
Owner Bill Foley said the NHL expansion team will do whatever is needed to help the city heal in the aftermath of Sunday’s shootings on the Strip.
