A “booze crawl” planned for 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday will be a benefit for the family of the late George Racz, owner and founder of the Las Vegas Distillery, who died Nov. 18 at age 51.
Henderson’s once-moribund downtown area is showing new signs of life these days, with several new restaurants and more to come. The city even pipes in music — baby boomer favorites on a recent afternoon — to jazz things up.
Although its bounce back has been a little slower than in some parts of the valley, the restaurant scene in Henderson is reviving, with a number of openings in the area near Galleria at Sunset mall on Sunset Road.
Veganbites Bakery delivers desserts to restaurants such as Go Vegan Cafe, Violette’s Vegan Organic Cafe Juice Bar, VegeNation and Pancho’s Vegan Tacos. It also supplies gluten-free food to casinos and works with severallunch-box companies.
Plant-based restaurant VegeNation opened a Henderson location in August and has found its niche in the city, employees say.
