The Nevada Supreme Court ruled Thursday that Title Max broke state law by offering loans twice as long as state law allows, thus overcharging customers, but the company won’t have to pay damages because it didn’t willfully violate the law.

In a lawsuit against an insurance company, MGM Resorts International said more than 4,000 people are seeking compensation for claims related to the shooting. MGM is disputing any liability, and is “vigorously defending itself in all of the cases,” it said in the lawsuit.
